Careers Early and Late Abe Ginsberg

Ron Historyo

I wonder if there was a Time when Abe Ginsberg wrestled without that Skull Cap.

I for sure saw him take it off or even had it ripped off.

But it was a great look.

There was no window in time shifting from Peter Ginsberg to Abe.

For whatever reason he was on occasions billed as Peter.

I find him right at the start of 1960, but not in 1959.

So the very first bill, Abe from the start, but Peter later that year. And in 1962, two bills on the top row working with (or rather against) Eric Cutler.

Then bottom row, The Black Diamonds with Foley.

1966 with Cutler and the very latest that I found him 1981.

I never saw this guy in a bad bout and it always struck me when he got up to full weight, he was comfortable in there with anyone up to mid heavy.

Would love to have seen him in with Kellett, Howes, Fallon, Rocco, a Young Finlay. I even think he might have been an ideal opponent for Mike Marino.

He looked good beating Curry on YouTube, but I thought a draw would have been more credible. Should they have fixed Curry losing to him. What did that do for Curry. ??

Abe and the Black Diamonds were always good to watch. His daughter was on here a few years back and said his last match was in 1983.

An early Abe without the helmet.
