Careers Early and Late Les Kellett

Ron Historyo

Some snap shots of Les Kellet and his origins.

Back to 1944 and this connection he had with Scotland,

Described on one bill as a clever wrestler.

No doubt the comedian persona crept in over the years. Only the slightest change of identity when he was branded as “THE FOX”

I make it about 1964.

Les just went on and on into the mists of time. So many great characters made for tv. Maybe Les might have been the best.

Anglo Italian
You’ve done it again, Ron: Kwango, Pallo and Kellett sharing a 1983 bill.

The tag will have ensured the last two didn’t have to exert themselves; but Kwango with his leaky thigh is a concern. I hope he wasn’t in with Kung Fu!

I slipped up there Hack, and now you have put me into 1940 I have a couple more.

He shared a ring with Morrell.

In 1940 I found him billed from London, Bradford and Australia

Powerlock

He was also billed from north of the border too

And that one I can’t work out. Born Bradford.

Maybe Ron can. Or anyone?

The Ost

Kellett beating Knowles at Edinburgh that Hack posted above is the earliest i’ve found so far.

You can find Kellett billed from Edinburgh during the 1950’s. Even in 1961, you can find him billed as “late of Edinburgh” following a Bradford hometown listing.

It’s never been clear about Kellett and Edinburgh. You would think the best theory would be armed forces duties. Perhaps one of the biggest mysteries to yet be solved.
