Steve Veidor today with his endless spelling possibilities.
Would struggle to put him before 1961 and after 1985.
Herman Vidor to kick it off.

And to follow up The Great Veidor of Austria in 1962, Steve Bell also in 1962 and then Veidor Bell in 1963

What was it all about? They just could not decide.
Good career, loved by the ladies. Never quite got to taste the Champion belt.
Hack
Who knows what went on in the minds of some promoters? We know they liked to introduce a bit of colour but in the case of Steve Veidor he had the looks and skill to attract fans without nonsense. As we were soon to see.
Anglo Italian
Just to clarify any doubt:

The Ost
Never quite sure with the Vidor thing:

Things is, you can find Buddy Ward wrestling Von Veeda in other years, such as 1962 (after Veidor/Bell has started with JP) and 1966.
Also things like this:
May 3rd, 1963 – London, England
[Bruce Grove Cinema Tottenham]
Kurt Von Vida b The Ghoul (DQ)
Roger Newman b Angel Gonzales
Tony Zale & Bill Tunney b Danny Flynn & Martin Robson
Black Butcher Johnson b Len Britton
Promoter: Arthur S Howes
So I’m not really sure how to distinguish the famous Veidor/Viedor/Bell from the other one. Was Von Vidor our Steve and Veeda/Vida a different guy?

I would say that you have some good 1961 finds Osty.
Matches with Buddy Ward are certainly him with the Ellesmere Port Link.
They really could not make up their minds what to do with the spelling.
When I set out to do this, I knew it was not going to be possible to get the first and last shows in almost all cases. You’re doing well if you can get back to year of Origin.
