A look at WAYNE BRIDGES today.
I find him under no other name and not earlier than 1964. WD.com have one match for 1963
He seemed to take a long time to become a main man. All his real glory coming in the 80’s.

But there he is elevated to World Champion and by the 80’s there was a lot less size of roster so the same bout was varied and showcased in many towns, far more so than ever before. His early break looks like Paul Lincoln. Through Mike Marino, I think.
Through the 80’s worked some huge matches as shown below. May well have finished in 1988.

That’s Bob Anthony co-promoting with Paul Lincoln. I never really took to Wayne Bridges (nothing wrong with him, just one of those things).I suppose he looked too goody goody. Admit to being excited when he did make one of his rare trips up north.

I have to agree I never took to Wayne Bridges

Yeh, I think when all the 1950’s heavies finished it created a gap. Tony St Clair was in Germany a lot and Pat Roach doing films and tv.
These profiles are a lot harder to do if a guy never switches Persona all through his career.
And then with the Dixon/Joint split it was very watered down from what I can see.
Endless repetitive matches all over the country, same formula.
