Today I look back at Wild Angus. I did not see him until about 1970 and I only really knew him as Wild Angus. That was the name that stuck with me. But we go back to 1963 and here is Cecil Logan and later that year Angus Campbell.

The following year Wild Angus Campbell and Black Angus Campbell

The last time I can find him is 1983 and that’s the way I always think of him…..WILD ANGUS
Good value, one of the very best. These kind of men made wrestling tick.

I wonder if Chang Shaw is Drew Mcdonald

Wild Angus, the man who was never young. I saw him in March, 1965, he was Wild Angus Campbell by then and well known in independent rings. He was an immensely versatile wrestler, could play clean or dirty, wrestle or brawl and was always entertaining. The independents in the sixties made the most of this talent, he always seemed more subdued when I saw him on Joint shows. Very successful overseas, something of a prophet without honour in his own country.
Interesting to note a rare bit of honesty on the Widnes show. The Hunchback from Notre Dam, “not Quasimodo,” presumably Danny Flynn.
Pat Favarque? Could this be Pete LaPaque?
Any news of Ike Williams? He was in regular touch with Sam Betts up to 5 or 6 years ago.

You saw Angus wrestling clean, Hack. Amazing! The fans must have been so disappointed, what with that fizzog,
Prince Mozambula from West Africa; Cecil Logan from London. Some desperate copying by these unscrupulous promoters.

Yes as I’ve mentioned before Angus was known to wrestle clean. On the opposition bills fans knowledge of the wrestlers they saw was just from what they saw in the halls. So it was easier to change roles with fans being none the wiser. With opponents like Dominic Pye, The Monster, The Ghoul, and Klondyke Bill it was inevitable that Angus would sometimes have to play the good guy.

I once saw Angus tag with Ian Gilmour as The Flying Scots!!
Hack
A flying Angus. I said versatile, but that’s pushing it.
