Dane Curtis

Wrestling Heritage welcomes memories, further information and corrections.

Popular light heavyweight from Rochdale in the 1960s and 1970s. Dane was a fast and athletic skilful wrestler whose skills were honed at the Wryton Stadium gym at the weekends under the tutorship of old timers like Alf Cadman.

He began wrestling professionally in the mid 1960s, and could be seen in independent promoters shows in 1966. It wasn’t until 1970, working for Joint Promotions he came to any sort of national attention, being a featured wrestler in The Who’s Who of Wrestling, and three television appearances in 1971 and 1972.

Following a very active 1971 and 1972 appearances diminished and our last sighting was against Paul Mitchell at Kirkby In Ashfield in March 1975.
