French heavyweight Francois Miquet was the younger brother of Felix. Francois boxed professionally for two years from 1938, followed by a considerably longer combative stint in the army during the war, and taking up wrestling in 1946 making a short visit to Britain in the Autumn of that year. In 1948 he moved to Canada, where he won the Canadian junior heavyweight championship. He made a short return visit to Britain in 1953. Francois made a very successful career in Canada and the USA, though shortly after arriving in North America he changed his wrestling name from Francois Miquet to Corsica Joe. Born January 17, 1920 in Bonvillaret, France, Francois Miquet died on 13th March, 2010, aged 90.
