This time we didn’t provide biographical details in the countdown, you can find details on 92 of the above 94 wrestlers in the A-Z section – and quite possibly on all 94! We’ll just say that in the same way that fifties George Kidd created the mould for speedy technical wrestling, so the sixties Royals dedicated thought and training to perfecting original and entertaining routines that were emulated by others. The Black Diamonds, too, thought outside the box with their controversial wristbands, and were a near equivalent of the villainous kind. The Hell’s Angels were a sensational sight to behold but were only in regular team action for 3 or 4 years, otherwise they would surely have challenged the top two teams even more closely. The Caribbean Sunshine Boys may actually have reached the greatest infamy of all, and again it was their run of less than a year that held them back.
As always, you can voice you agreement or anger at our selections in the Talk Wrestling forum.
