Wolverhampton born Vic Kendrick came up the hard way, playing the piano in pubs to supplement his aircraft factory wages he went on to become Managing Director of the Midlands Entertainment Agency, supplying acts for clubs around the midlands. . In 1964 he took over the lease of Dudley Hippodrome from Jerry Jeary and, as well as bringing the Kinks and Walker Brothers to Dudley, continued to promote wrestling at the venue. The same year he also bought a former cinema in Stafford, the Sandonia, and put on bingo and wrestling. At the Dudley Hippodrome Kendrick promoted shows in conjunction with Wryton Promotions, a change from the independents used by the previous promoter, Jerry Jeary. In October 1964 there was a change at Dudley, Wryton Promotions were dispensed of and independent shows were presented under the Vic Kendrick banner. In November it became Vic Kendrick in association with Paul Lincoln and in September, 1965 it was announced that Paul Lincoln Management were taking over at the Dudley Hippodrome, first show 12th September, 1965. Following the amalgamation of Paul Lincoln Management with Joint Promotions in January 1966 Vic’s partnership with Lincoln ended and he continued to present independent shows under the Vic Kendrick banner.
