Cool and modest, Jackie rarely gave many interviews and held the Title for two years prior to her retirement in 1989. Jackie was one of a few who mastered the `Victory Roll` A finisher that was risky to both contestants. If not timed correctly it could easily render the applier of the move unconscious . However Jackie perfected the move to a high degree and it proved a winner in many of her bouts. Jackie rated highly in the BWA Ranking and had a large following of fans.

Goldie Wells retired in 1987 which left the BWA Ladies Title vacant. By the process of elimination the last two contenders were Jackie McCann and Stella Fox. After a thrilling match which went to the wire, Jackie caught Stella in a perfect Victory Roll and follow up Press to claim the honours .Jackie remained undefeated for the following two years.

Jackie’s interest in wrestling is no lessened today, as an enthusiastic wrestling historian and founder of the Blackpool Wrestlers Reunion.
